June 28th

Today, I went to the school here in Hattingen with Leah (the neighbor). It's an old school and kind of outdated technology-wise. The school here is rather different from America. After every class period (about 45 minutes each....or 90 if it's a double-period), there's a 10-20 minute break. They also don't have every class every day. Today, Leah had 4 classes, tomorrow she has 7. Today, we went to Trigonometry, French, History, and Computers.

Trigonometry-boring, couldn't understand too much
French- interesting, but still couldn't understand too much...obviously, as I don't take French
History- interesting, I understood a little bit, we talked about the Berlin Wall
Computer- boring, but we got to use Microsoft Visual Basic

At about 12:30, all of the classes were finished, and we went to a room where we played cards (BlackJack, in particular). That was fun, wish we could do that in America. After about 15 minutes, we went over to the cafeteria, where we ate some salad, pasta, and pudding. Very good food...the pasta sauce was a little bit fatty, though. But, you can basically do whatever you want during the break....even go home if you want to. You can also eat and drink during the class...as long as you're paying attention, of course.

So, today was a little bit boring at school...but tomorrow should definitely be better, because we have Sport (Gym), English, and German...I don't know what else. So, tomorrow should be fun (especially English).
