July 31st

Today, Alina, Peter, and I went to Münster to explore a little bit of the city. We even saw a little bit of Peter's old university. Everything in the town was really cool...and the place is full of churches (mostly Catholic, of course). We saw 8 churches...but there are a lot more!

Then, we went to a town called "Mesum" and we visited Peter's parents. We also went in their garden....everything is really oversized there! It's really cool.

Then we went right down the street from Peter's parents' house to Peter's brother's house, where we had a barbecue with Bratwurst and really good salad. Of course, Alina didn't eat the Bratwurst. But, it was fun, and everybody is very nice. Peter's brother even gave me a shirt as an early birthday present.

July 29th

Today, Peter and I went to the "Schiffshebewerk", which is an old elevation platform for ships. It used to raise ships from one level of the canal to the next level. It was pretty cool. We also went inside an old ship called the "Franz-Christian" That was cool.

Then, we went to the castle "Nordkirchen". It was really huge, and really cool.

July 27th

Today, Peter and I went to the city of Köln (Cologne) and went to an enormous old church called the "Kölner Dom". It really was huge, and very very beautiful. The architecture was amazing! We both climbed the stairs all the way up the tower...that was really tiring, but worth it.

Then, Peter and I went closer to the Rhein to see all of the ships, and we also saw a Michael Jackson tribute wall.

Then, Peter and I walked around the city and the old city for awhile. I even drank "Kölsch", which is a local beer. It was good, but I don't really like beer anyway, but still, it wasn't too bad.

Later, Peter and I went on a boat tour on the Rhine. It lasted for an hour, and was pretty cool.
