August 12th

Well, today is my last day in Germany. We pretty much just went to the airport. Leah wanted to come with, so, we brought her a long. I tried not to cry...I didn't really want to leave at all! :(

I will definitely miss everything about Germany. I'll miss the food, I'll miss the atmosphere, I'll miss the towns and cities, but, most of all, I'll miss the people. Hopefully, one day, I'll return.

It was a fun seven-and-a-half weeks. There were some times where I got annoyed with Alina and Peter, but, I'm sure they were annoyed with me at times, too. Who wouldn't be? I probably wouldn't want to live with me for seven-and-a-half weeks. I will miss them so very much. I'll miss them and every friend that I made over there.

Thank you, Alina and Peter, for taking such good care of me and putting up with me for so long (although it seems so short now). Thank you to the Joklitschkes, who also took care of me when Alina and Peter were at work, and for being great friends. Thank you to the Baasner-Kuhnhenn family, for being great friends. Thank you, Andrea and Serkan, for having us over a few times and for being such nice people, hope you make some pancakes from my recipe :) Thank you all so very very much. I'll certainly miss all of you.

August 11th

Well, today is my last full day in Germany. We went to the town of Essen. That was a pretty neat town.

I then went over to Leah's for a little while, just to talk to her for a little bit, as it is my last full day.

I then went back to the house...and we had an awesome salad and some awesome pasta, and some wine, of course.

August 10th

This morning, I left Hamburg and came back to Hattingen. Not too much happened today; I was really tired. Alina, Peter, and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch/dinner and an awesome dessert. We even tried the sparkling wine that I got for my birthday. It was really good. :)

August 9th

Today is my only full day in Hamburg. Stefan took me on a small tour of parts of the city. It's pretty nice. We saw some of the harbor and also a tribute to the Beatles.

We then saw a little more of the red light district. This time, I took a few pictures of some of the shops.

We then went to St. Michaeli's Church. It's a Lutheran church, and even has a statue of Martin Luther outside. The interior is absolutely beautiful!

I then went on a small tour (by myself, Stefan had to go to a meeting) of part of the River Elbe. I saw some pretty neat buildings. Great architecture. Some of the huge ships were pretty cool, too.

We then went to the "Rathaus", which is the city hall. Absolutely gorgeous architecture, inside and out!

We then saw a model of the city...that was pretty cool.

Then, we went back to St. Michaeli's Church and went to the top of the tower...the view was amazing!

So, Hamburg is a pretty cool city. I really like it! :)
